LifeHouse showed me what it was like to be safe and surrounded by love for the first time in my life. It became the home and family God knew I needed. I was lost in darkness—haunted by trauma and the shadows of my abusers—and LifeHouse became the light that led me out. It wasn’t just a shelter. It was my refuge, where Truth broke through the lies and I saw the reflection of Jesus and His love.

At LifeHouse, the chaos stopped screaming, and in that peace, I could finally hear God’s voice again. It brought me back to life—not just physically, but in my soul and spirit. Before, I thought surviving was living. But now, because of LifeHouse, I have true life—filled with peace, faith, hope, and purpose. LifeHouse gave me the tools, love, and support I needed. I can say with full confidence: had God not led me to LifeHouse, I wouldn’t be alive today. LifeHouse was God’s saving grace

In January 2023, I graduated from Lifehouse Women’s Home—a new beginning I never thought possible. After over 12 failed rehab attempts and 20 jail stays, Lifehouse was the first program I completed. Before, I was trapped in opioid addiction—lost, broken, and hopeless.

Walking through their doors, I was met with love, not judgment. Lifehouse is more than a program; it’s a HOME where I healed physically, emotionally, and spiritually, restored my family relationships, and learned discipline, accountability, self-worth, and that my past doesn’t define my future. Jesus rewrites stories!

Today, I’m going on 4 years sober—my longest ever. I lost my brother to an overdose in 2017, but now I know Jesus gives our pain purpose. Tim married my husband and me in 2023, and my whole family has been baptized at LIFEchurch where we attend. Lifehouse didn’t just bring me to Jesus—it brought my whole family. I am forever grateful to Tim and Tami for all they do.

LifeHouse has been a beacon of hope in my journey of recovery from alcoholism. When I first arrived, I was at my lowest point, having lost everything. Tim and Tami welcomed me with open arms, offering not just a place to stay but a sanctuary for healing.

The environment at LifeHouse gave me time to heal mentally and physically, reflect on my past, confront my demons, and begin rebuilding my life. I reconnected with my family and my relationship with God.

Through their support and guidance, I gained the confidence to step back into the world as a sober woman. Their belief in me was instrumental in my transformation. I am that “one lost sheep” from the parable—found and restored at LifeHouse.
I carry the lessons learned with me, committed to sobriety and determined to help others. LifeHouse is not just a place; it is a lifeline. Nebraska is where I’m from, Iowa is home.
